he object of dissertation is the strategic planning of small and medium enterprises working in the field of instrument engineering. The study aims to develop theoretical and methodological positions, practical recommendations for designing and applying system of strategic planning for small and medium business. The author used such methods as: semantic method for research of notions of strategic management, system analysis for designing system of strategic planning, historical method for defining trends in national economy of Ukraine and machine building industry, analysis, synthesis and comparing for identification of perspective of some instrument engineering sectors, statistic analysis for evaluation of microenvironment of enterprises, method of expert evaluation for assess of strategic potential of enterprises and sector of weights equipment, mathematical modeling for the calculation of impulse of enterprises and choice of optimal strategies. The theoretical value of the dissertation is the study of the theoretical principles of the system of the strategic planning of small and medium business. Scientific novelty refers to theoretical and practical recommendations for improving of strategic planning. The subject of the study is conceptual and methodological issues of strategic planning of enterprises. Author's guidelines apply to owners of small and medium business.. The scope for authors recommendations refers to enterprises.
