The correlation of the notions “sender – addressee” in the structure of authorial preface is analysed, the communicative essence of paratext is defined, the role of authorial preface as a paratextual element that contributes to the building of successful interaction between an author and a reader is revealed. The linguistic means of verbalization of an author’s language personality in fiction have been identified and analysed. The dominant individual authorial concepts have been singled out.
