Essay

The thesis provides a comprehensive approach to the analysis of silence in literary text with due regard to the anthropocentric linguistic paradigm. In course of the research a model of literary communication was subject to scrutiny. Silence was defined as a structure building element of the dialogical interaction “author – reader”. The thesis sheds light on structural compositional and linguostylistic means of expressing silence within the individual creative system of R. Walser.
