Essay

Present study is devoted to substantiation of principles of prediction and prevention of dental implant failure in patients with morphometabolic bone disorders. Experimental studies revealed peculiarities of the course of complications of dental implant integration and bone defect healing in systemic osteoporosis. In osteoporotic rats, complications of implant insertion were more often (58,8 %), than in healthy animals (36,4 %). That allowed drawing the scheme of pathogenesis of implant disintegration in osteoporotic bone. Results of clinical studies allowed definition of correlation between density of the mandible and skeletal bone mineral density and correlation of mandible mineral density from radiomorphometric indices, bone density in place of implant positioning from CT scanning and bone turnover markers with intensity of bone loss around dental implant. Prognostic value of named parameters was evaluated. Linear regression analysis was provided and regression model obtained to predict possible amount of bone loss around the implant during the first year after its placement and to change surgical protocol or treatment plan.
