Klos V. Geochemistry of environmental objects in urban agglomerations (central Ukraine)

The thesis is devoted to the research of geochemical characteristics of environmental objects in urban agglomerations (Zhytomyr, Rivne, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Boryspil) areas of central Ukraine. New data on the distribution of trace elements (Ag, As, Au, Cd, Zn, Zr and so on) in environmental objects (surface and bottom sediments, vegetation, snow cover and surface water) of urban agglomerations of central part of Ukraine are obtained, background and their abnormal content are defined, typical geochemical associations of technological anomalous fields are identified, geochemical ratios are calculated and the degree of pollution is determined. It is defined that the most effective aerogenic indicator of pollution in urban areas are stems of perennial grasses. Visual and geochemical differences of technogenic parts of aerogenic and mechanical pollution of surface sediments in urban agglomerations are delineated by means of electron microscope. The patterns of trace elements distribution in environmental objects in the territory of urban agglomerations are made by means of GIS.
