Kramarev H. Mechanisms to ensure sustainable development of oil and gas industry of Ukraine

The dissertation develops theoretical and methodological principles and mechanisms for sustainable development of Ukrainian oil and gas industry. The essence of the concept of "sustainable development" and the principles of its ensuring have been clarified. The methodological approaches to choosing the sustainable development strategy and its implementation mechanisms have been grounded. The best practice of sustainable development in world oil and gas companies has been examined. The structural-functional model of sustainable development has been developed while mechanisms for its implementation have been classified. The current state of oil and gas sector have been analysed, which have helped to identify organizational and economic problems that impede sustainable development. The model of mutual influence of oil and gas companies and the environment has been developed. The role of government regulation, economic incentives, and investment, their mechanisms and instruments to implement the strategy of sustainable development have been explained. The methodical approaches to improvement of risk management and increasing of financial stability of oil and gas companies have been specified. Recognized the need to change the structure of oil and gas industry through merging it with research and industrial project institutes that will strengthen the innovative potential and creativity of staff of the industry.
