The thesis is devoted to the substantiation of rules for setting protective measures caused by landslide processes on highways in mountainous areas, taking into account the dynamics of landslide mass displacement at the expense of definition of the overall index of damage caused by landslides. In the course of the research, a mathematical model for predicting ground displacements has been improved due to an overall index of damage from landslides and an index of moisture transfer in the ground. It possible to characterize the area on the basis of its resistance to ground displacements. An overall index of damage to the area under research caused by landslide processes has been defined, which makes it possible to take into account the dynamics of landslide displacements. A classification of landslide deformation on highways in mountainous areas based on the mechanism of rock destruction and on the dynamics of landslide mass displacement has been improved. Monitoring of some sections of the M-18 Simferopol-Yalta and N-19 Yalta-Sevastopol highways located in the Crimea has been carried out to determine the indexes of damage caused by landslide processes on the basis of the research of the dynamics of landslide processes in the given area. A range of values of the overall index of damage for each type of landslide deformation has been determined. Practical recommendations for defining a particular measure to protect highways in mountainous areas from landslide processes has been developed.
