Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of the electrochemical methods of producing the multifunctional hybrid materials based on poly(3-alkylthiophenes) and their potential applications. The methods have been developed for the electrochemical syntheses of the poly(3-alkylthiophenes) on the surface of indium-tin oxide (ITO)) and zinc oxide (with submicron rod morphology) layers to create the target multifunctional composites. The equipment, process conditions and applicability of tetraalkylamonium hydroxides as templates were developed and suggested for subsequent electrodeposition of the uniform ZnO layers with dense (ZnO d ) or rod (ZnO r ) morphology on the surface of the transparent oxide electrodes. Method of photoelectrochemical synthesis of the poly(3-methylthiophene)/ZnO r /ZnO d /ІTO heterostructure was demonstrated and photovoltaic properties of this structure was investigated. There has been developed the model of functioning of new electrochromic device made of layered composites of poly(3-methylthiophene)/ITO and polyaniline/ITO, working as parallel optical filters. Based on this model, the electrochromic device was manufactured, which demonstrated RGB (red-green-blue) color palette similar to the real one. Key words: electrochemical synthesis, poly(3-alkylthiophenes), ZnO rods, templates, multifunctional layered hybrid materials, photovoltaic effect, electrochromic device.
