Pugachevska K. Import of goods regulation in Ukraine in terms of membership in WTO

The essence and theoretical approaches to the genesis of import regulation theories in open economies are elucidated and generalized in the work. The author’s vision of the definition of “import of goods regulation” is introduced. The factors that influence the import of intermediate and final consumption composition are classified, as well as the methods for assessing trade restrictions. The level of tariff and non-tariff protection of the domestic market in terms of membership in WTO is investigated. The import effect on the structure of intermediate and final consumption in Ukraine is evaluated. Import contribution to the development of the internal market in Ukraine is identified.The needs for increasing protection of the certain sectors of economy are substantiated. The priority areas of selective import substitution of some types of economic activity are singled out. The conceptual approaches and directions of regulation of import of goods in Ukraine are proposed.
