Essay

In the thesis it is proved that the presence of iron deficiency anemia in patients with chronic heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in the absence of obvious sources of iron losses is associated with severity of disease, decreasing exercise tolerance and worse indicators of structural and functional state of the heart. It is substantiated the new approaches for diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic heart failure and iron deficiency anemia on the basis of defining clinical symptoms, exercise tolerance, iron metabolism indicators in these patients for detecting iron deficiency in time, diagnostic criteria of its severity and rating change of these indicators during three-month oral treatment by ferrous sulphate drug and determining predictors of worse hematologic response to oral iron therapy.
