The dissertation is devoted to solving scientific and practical issues focused on the development of scientific and methodological approaches to and practical recommendations for improving transaction cost management in engineering companies. The dissertation gives determination of the category «transaction costs» from an economic perspective and investigates the evolution of approaches to transaction cost classification. Conceptual framework of transaction cost management is described from the standpoint of strategic, systematic and process functional approach. The dissertation analyses scientific approaches and methods of quantitative and qualitative assessment of transaction costs. It assesses the efficiency of transaction cost management in domestic engineering companies. It investigates the influence of environmental factors on the efficiency of transaction cost management in engineering companies. Methodical principles of transaction cost optimization are justified on the basis of sales income maximization. Methodological tools are developed to determine the effectiveness of transaction cost management through integrated assessment index. The dissertation as well presents theoretical and methodical justification of approach to transaction cost identification in terms of transactional influence orientation and the system of evaluation parameters developed. Management strategies are developed depending on the nature of relation between transaction costs of engineering companies.
