The present thesis focuses on semantic structure of the terminological field «language policy» in the Ukrainian and Japanese languages. For the first time in linguistics it offers a theoretical model for contrastive description of semantics in the terms of these languages from the standpoint of linguistic typology, contrastive lexicology, terminology studies and lexicography.
