Essay

The thesis is devoted to the efficiency improvement of diagnosis and treatment of chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis of school-age children by applying the developed health-care complex, which includes the use of photodynamic therapy. Poor state of oral hygiene and poor sanitation knowledge and skills of children with CGCG are revealed. Abnormality of oral colonization resistance and frequency rise of detection of pathogenic microorganisms are determined. The interrelation between the severity of CGCG and detection frequency of associations of periodontal pathogenic microorganisms is revealed. It is found that children with CGCG tend to have reduction of calcium and phosphorus content in oral fluid and increase of alkaline phosphatase and amylase. Pathogenetically justified therapeutic and preventive complex of measures for the treatment of CGCG of school-age children has been developed and its high clinical effectiveness has been proved. The importance of periodontal pathogenic bacterial contamination of gingival sulcus is confirmed as a risk factor in the formation of CGCG of school children.
