Essay

The thesis represents linguocultural space of English folk tales. Five thematic groups of extra-linguistic reality have been singled out: FOLKTALE CHARACTER, WAY OF LIFE, NATURE, ETHNICITY, ABSTRACTIVENESS. Every group has been characterized by several specifications of world language map as actualized lexical units belonging to different parts of speech in different contexts. As the result of the research performed it has been established that anthroponyms as the constituents of the onimic field under consideration are characterized by higher frequency occurrence as compared to other onimic categories (zoonims and mythonyms are formed in closer to the nuclear space of the onimic field; toponyms form the periphery of the onimic field of linguo-cultural space).
