Essay

The thesis investigated ultrastructural reorganizations and reactions of different types of mitochondria of contractile ventricular and atrial cardiomyocytes, which developed under conditions of chronic prenatal hypoxia. Based on the ultrastructural analysis in the thesis were identified the signs of alterative processes and compensatory-adaptive reactions in the ventricular and atrial mitochondria under chronic prenatal hypoxia during prenatal and postnatal ontogenesis. It is shown that severity of alterative changes and compensatory-adaptive reactions of mitochondrial apparatus are different in the heart chambers, within the heart wall, change during ontogenesis and depend on morphofunctional heterogeneity and intracellular localization of mitochondria. Using three-dimensional computer modeling were identified regularities of mitochondrial responses to hypoxia and its related pathological changes.
