The object of study: the process of forming a strategy of import substitution in an industrial plant. Objective: development and scientific substantiation of organizational-economic bases of formation of strategy of import substitution at an engineering company. Methods and apparatus: comparative and statistical analysis, system-structural and logical analysis, strategic analysis, economic-mathematical analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the theoretical and methodological development, practical proposals that improve the efficiency of the strategic management of businesses based on import substitution. Novelty: proposed scientific and methodological principles of forming strategic vector of development of industrial enterprise on the basis of import; improved definition of "import substitution strategy of industrial enterprise"; improved scientific and methodical approach to the analysis of the feasibility of the strategy of import substitution and site selection for its implementation; improved scientific and methodical approach to building a strategy of import substitution in the industrial enterprise based on a phased iterative selection promising directions of its development. Level of Implementation: design and practical recommendations implemented in the activity of JSC "NASOSENERGOMASH Sumy", JSC "Sumy NPO im. M.V. Frunze" in the curriculum of SSU.
