Kal'nyi S. Strengthening the Economic Security of Agriculture in Ukraine.

The dissertation deals with economic security of agriculture under ensuring sustainable development and considers recommendations for improving governmental regulation of agricultural production and rural development. Also creating a system of sustainable agriculture in Ukraine is suggested. The dissertation studies the essence of agriculture's economic security and its evaluation. The main threats for this system in Ukraine are identified. Analysis of the economic security of agriculture for its economic, environmental and social components, as well as analysis of the relationship between economic and environmental components in the regions, is provided. Composite index of economic security of agriculture in the regions is developed and ranking of regions is recommended. Necessity of agricultural reformation, based on biological characteristics of agrosphere and social needs of rural areas, is substantiated. Recommendations for improving economic security through harmonization of economic development and agricultural environment are suggested.
