The author highlights the theoretical and methodological basis of analysis of canon law as a normative and regulatory systems of Eastern Church. Determine the theoretical and the legal specifics of the Eastern sources of canon law of the church as one of the religious legal systems. Attention is focused on the disclosure of "sources of canon law" as the external forms of rule-making will securing independent religious associations, analyzed specific sources of canon law regarding sources of secular law and other religious legal systems, discusses the various types of sources of canon law: material, formal and legal doctrine. The features of the functioning of Canon Law in Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Medieval Canon Law is not only a major source of religious law, but also present many vital secular juridical systems, especially in civil law, still feeling its effects. The features of systematic sources of canon law and its functioning in the modern social and cultural space. The peculiarities of canon law in connection with modifications of Eastern Christianity and deployment of democratic processes. Contemporary Christian canon law is analyzed as an autonomous legal system on corporate, which is a body of religious law.
