Kryshtal A. Geological conditions of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits forming and prediction in Dnieper-Donets depression.

The world and national experience of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits in Dnieper-Donets depression study, prospecting, exploitation and main prerequisites of forming and prediction are reviewed in the dissertation. The optimal complex of studies is justified for predictive-prospecting criteria and geological and economic evaluation establishing of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits prognosis resources. The favorable geological conditions presence in DDd for all types of hydrocarbon deposits presently known formation and prediction is confirmed (for exception of gas hydrates). The prediction and prospecting criteria complex and its definition and using methodical foundations were elaborated for oil and gas prospective objects resource assessment: shale gas and shale oil, coal bed methane, tight gas, basin-central gas. The five prospective structural-tectonic zones were selected by defined criteria for the exploration works realization. The prediction and prospecting criteria system applying is allowed to define 15 prospective areas of shale gas and basin-central gas scientifically justified prognosis resources in the amount of 3.4 trillion m3, and also 12 Donbas geological-industrial districts with methane extraction reserves about 1 trillion m3.
