The thesis is devoted to the colorfull of modern piano texture, which is reflected in the concept of "timbre-coloring". The concept of timbre-coloring is revealed through the phenomenon of synaesthesia as inter-sensory associations. The timbre-coloring is a system of musical means which creates the sound color effects and consists of five structural levels. Accordingly them, the study presents the analysis of the intrinsic properties of musical means and specificity of timbre-coloring in the piano works by O. Messiaen. Attention is paid to the degree of composer's and performer's influence on the expressive means of different levels. It is expressed in the concepts of "timbre-color palette" and "timbre-color filling". We study the organization and interaction of colorful structures: define types of colorful structures and types of timbre-coloring organization of the piece. In conclusion, seventeen types of sonorities that make up the timbre-color palette of Messiaen was found.
