Historical and legal aspects of developing institution of evidence in criminal proceedings in Ukraine have been considered in the paper. The concept, content and value of sources of evidence, theoretical and practical aspects of collecting, checking and evaluation of evidence, documents, physical evidence, drawing expert’s conclusions have been studied. The rules of criminal procedural legislation of foreign countries, regulating matters of evidence have been analyzed.
