Essay

The thesis is devoted to improvement, development and combination of the multi-level image processing methods for their complex processing, that includes low-level methods, image objects detection methods, image segmentation techniques and methods for object classification. The result of practical applications of the developed methods was their implementation as part of system for automatic defectoscopic analysis of pipe welds based on their radiographic images. A number of image processing methods were used, improved and developed for these purposes. Active shape models are improved for radiographic image segmentation that allow more efficient segmentation of blurred and partially occluded objects. The approach to object detection invariant to a given set of transformations is developed based on solution of nonstandard optimizational tasks.
