Using a complex of morphological, morphometrical, physical and statistical methods in the experiment on 108 rats we have performed investigation of alveolocytes of I, II type, hemocapillars, alveolar macrophages and functional activity of lung surfactant in animals situated in the ecologically clean zone and animals under the influence of ecologically unfavorable factors. For the first time it has been established that air pollutants in different zones caused the development of reactive changes in the components of pulmonary aerohematic barrier (30 days), dystrophic-destructive changes (60 days) and adaptive processes (90 days).
