Strelbitska L. Procedural Status of the Convicted in the Criminal Proceedings of Ukraine.

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of theoretical and practical issues related to the procedural status of the convicted in the criminal proceedings of Ukraine. The scientific views of the famous Soviet and modern scholars in the field of procedural law, as well as the current domestic and foreign legislation regulating the peculiarities of the procedural status of the convicted in the criminal proceedings are analyzed and highlighted in the research. The notion, content and peculiarities of the procedural status of the convicted as a subject of criminal procedural relations are studied. The problematic questions arising in practice during the exercising by the convicted of his/her rights and performance of the imposed duties are researched in the dissertation. A list of suggestions for improvement of the current legislation on the procedural status of the convicted and the practice of its application under the requirements set forth in the Constitution of Ukraine and international legal acts on human rights protection and judicial proceedings is presented.
