Theoretical and practical issues of the investigative activity of an investigator are analyzed in an integrated manner in the dissertation. The essence of the investigative activity of an investigator is revealed, its definition is improved, the main peculiarities of the activity are distinguished and its place in the system of criminalistics is determined. The objects of the investigative activity of an investigator are studied, their classification is presented. Taking into consideration the novels of the criminal procedural law of Ukraine, the system of investigator’s activity means as well as the notion and types of investigative acts of an investigator is presented. The fundamental principles of the organization of investigator’s investigative activity and peculiarities of special knowledge usage in such an activity are highlighted. Having generalized the practice of law-enforcing bodies and studied literature sources, the author made suggestions for investigator’s investigative activity efficiency improvement.
