The hemostasis system in patients with atherothrombotic and cardioembolic ischemic stroke was analysed. It was shown that activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and prothrombin time (PT) do not show any significant results in both studied groups, whereas the ancystron timetest is the most informative blood test. A significant prolongation of euglobulin lysis time andHageman-factor-dependent fibrinolysiswas observed in cardioembolic ischemic stroke patients. It was shown that atherothrombotic ischemic stroke was accompanied by increased ADP-dependent platelet aggregation by 26% after admission, while in patients with cardioembolic ischemic stroke ADP-dependent platelet aggregation was increased by 20% on the 7th day of stay in the hospital. In both study groups, accumulation of fibrinogen E-fragment and prothrombin degradation products in the blood plasma of patients was shown. We have found that the total pool of fibrinogen E-fragment forms of each individual patient contains 25% to 50% of its free form and that the free form of fibrin E-fragment of human affects the functional state of donor's platelets. The high prothrombin level in blood plasma was more evident in case of cardioembolic ischemic stroke. Increased IgG level in blood plasma of cardioembolic stroke patients was observed: IgG level was 85% higher on the 7th day of stay in the hospital comparing to the level on admission day.
