Essay

In following dissertation we have analyzed the medical records of 303 victims of car accidents, where bone injuries, or skeletal trauma (CT) were also combined with one or more of the following: either injuries to thoratic region (TR), abdominal trauma (AT) or cranial trauma (CT) in order to study the exsisting level of organization of first medical help to the victims of car accidents before getting to the hospital and in ER. There have been defined the correlation in death due to the sketletal injuries in car accident victims and established two main causes of death-massive blood loss and fat embolism as a result of multiple bone fractures and injuries of the internal organs. The data we received shows, that the most vulnerable parts of the skeletal system during injuries are the bones of the lower extremities and pelvis, also we found the correlation in increase in amount of injuries to the pelvis with the increase of injuries to the shin bones and the thigh bones (148 injuries to the big shin bone, 134 injuries to the small shin bone, 144 cases on injuries to the pelvis). With the help of single factor dispertion analysis it has been established, that the survival rate among the victims with the head injuries was almost twice higher compare to the victims who died from injuries to the skeletal system: 9,7 days compare to 5,6 (p<0.005). Created new recommendations for the protocols, offered introduction of new equipment for the specialized ambulance teams, proposed switch to the modern system of first medical help to the victims of car accidents before they get to the hospital.
