Essay

Selection issues of breeding by families and lines as important methods of ge-netic improvement of Volyn Beef breed of LLC "Zorya" breeding farm, Volyn region have been set out in the thesis. The analysis of performance indicators (body weight, linear growth, milk ability) and various selection methods for their improvement has been carried out. Significant level of intergroup differentiation has been established, the better families by some economically valuable traits and the progressive ones by generations recommended for the extended reproduction have been found.
