Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of increasing brake holding ability of wheeled tractors and tractor trains by means of improving the method for choosing the brake force distribution between the axles. There were specified methods of determining normal reactions on the axles of the tractor and the tractor train, and choosing the rational distribution of braking forces between the axles, which allows improving braking characteristics. The method for determining the brake holding ability parameters for wheeled tractors and trains on their basis was developed as well as the method to determine rational distribution of braking forces between the axles of the tractor and the tractor train. The mathematical model, calculation algorithm and computer program to determine rational distribution of braking forces between the axles and braking characteristics in real time was suggested. The results obtained are applied by JSC "Kharkiv Tractor Plant" at developing new models of wheeled tractors. The method for estimating brake holding and anti-skidding ability of tractors and tractor trains is used by Kharkiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations named after M. S. Bokarius at analyzing reasons of car accidents.
