Essay

Object of research. Stress-strain state and durability of timber structures. The results of research. The influence on the mechanical properties of glued wood at variable temperature and humidity conditions after prolonged usage (over 20 years) outdoors was experimentally evaluated for the first time. The research of strength and elastic characteristics of solid and glued wood after prolonged use (over 50 years) in the constructions of buildings and structures further developed. The performance of the combined "steel-wood" systems was investigated. The method for calculating of the wooden structures at the complex stress and long-term operation was improved. The recommendations for restoration of the bearing capacity and to improve of operational reliability and durability of wooden structures were developed.
