Essay

The structural analysis of natural alkynylcarbinols was conducted that allowed a clear pharmacophore fragment identifying. The systematic chemical synthesis-driven four parameter structure-activity relationship study from the (S,E)-eicos-4-en-1-yl-3-ol natural reference reveled the novel non-natural dehydro derivative as an unprecedented anti-tumoral pharmacophore. Subsequently the influences of the lipidic chain length, type and quantity of bond unsaturation, absolute configuration of the carbinol center on the biological activity are confirmed.
