Sergienko O. Features of the prevention and treatment of main dental diseases in children with cerebral palsy

In a clinical examination of children with cerebral palsy set high prevalence (100%) and intensity (6.4) of dental caries in temporary occlusion. It is shown that the number of complicated forms of caries in children with cerebral palsy increased burden on the main forms of disease (2.25 times), which requires treatment of children under general anesthesia. Found that in children with cerebral palsy with age is an increase in the intensity of dental caries and distribution of periodontal inflammation, with the worst hygienic condition of the oral cavity fixed in children with cerebral palsy at the age of 3-5 years. First obtained quantitative indicators characterizing halitosis manifestations in the oral cavity in children with cerebral palsy. A set of preventive measures and its application scheme for children with cerebral palsy, the use of which allowed us to obtain caries prevention efficiency of 63.1 % at 2 years of supervision, indexes PMA % decrease bleeding and normalize the level of oral hygiene and increase non-specific resistance, reduce the degree of microbial contamination and improve mineralizing function of oral fluid.
