Kyselova N. Complex diagnostics and treatment of hemangiomas of maxillofacial area in children.

The dissertation is concerned with the quality improvement of diagnostics and treatment of vascular neoplasms of the maxillofacial area in children by making a complex of diagnostic and therapeutic means depending on the vascular formation’s shape, localization, size, growth rate and the age of a child. The work is based on the analysis findings of 196 case histories, examination and treatment of 141 children aged from a month up to 15 years having vascular neoplasms of the maxillofacial area. Information actuality, the sequence and the amount of additional diagnostic methods (DR, MRI, CTA, angiography) in all vascular malformations of the maxillofacial area in children have been determined. The efficacy of the medicinal therapy application to treat infantile hemangiomas has been explained. New surgical methods to manage vascular neoplasms of the soft tissues based on sparing surgical techniques have been suggested. The diagnostic–therapeutic complex has been proved to be effective in case of vascular neoplasms of the soft tissues and bones on the basis of differential use of diagnostic and therapeutic methods.
