Object: works of Russian and English authors: A. P. Chekhov, B. Shaw, V. Woolf. Objective: identification and systematization of "chekhovian" concept leading features in B. Shaw's and V. Woolf's works, which have common ground on motive, plot, artistic and poetic levels. Methods of research: Comparative method, the method of typological similarities, structural and semantic analysis. Results, novelty: for the first time A. P. Chekhov's artistic system influence on B. Shaw's and V. Woolf's work was investigated on conceptual level, namely components of "chekhovian" concept were identified and isolated, which can complexly introduce innovative A. P. Chekhov's poetic features, organically connected with the period of crisis and art reorientation in literature; the main features of "chekhovian" concept were highlighted and commented in B. Shaw's and V. Woolf's works; the features of conceptual foundations assimilation of Chekhov's poetics in B. Shaw's and V. Woolf's works were studied, depending on the artistic preferences of the recipient author. Field of application: courses on the history of foreign literature, special courses and seminars devoted to the study of A. P. Chekhov's, B. Shaw's, V. Woolf's oeuvre in high school.
