Skrepets K. Population-genetic evaluation of the gene pool of pigs of Ascanian type Ukrainian Meat breed

The thesis presents the results of studies evaluating selection-genetic processes in the pig population Ascanian type of the Ukrainian meat breed. With the use of molecular genetic markers carried out a comprehensive assessment of genetic variability and specificity of the gene pool of the newly established pig genepool. It is established that as a result of micro-evolutionary processes under the influence of natural and artificial selection has been formed a peculiar by the immunogenic, genetic and biochemical markers the genepool and the genetic structure of a new breed. The meat type of this breed quite significantly different qualitatively and quantitatively by the allelic and genotypic spectra from the parental breeds. In particular, there was an increased level of genetic polymorphism on the total number of genotypes identified 40 of 48 versus 31-38 identified in populations output breeds. Main specific features of breed, particular gene pool, which are determined by common alleles and genotypes, have a relatively high stability, while rare alleles and genotypes do not fit into coadaptive specific breed's features of gene complexes, and from this point of view, in the most cases they are inadaptive. Besides that, have been investigated the peculiar properties of genealogical structure of the type. A high level of interline differences has been detected that is a result of an effective selection-breeding work in the herds. It is shown the different selective value of alleles and genotypes of studied polymorphic systems and proved the possibility of their using as markers for the breeding and the selection of animals for the purpose of improving the economic-useful signs of pigs Ascanian type of the Ukrainian meat breed.
