The thesis focuses on the research of the structural, semantic and functional aspects of the grammaticalization of the verb DROHEN in German; defines three basic types of the verb DROHEN, which represent a continuum from lexical to grammatical items and recreate the way of grammaticalization of the verb DROHEN and the evolution of the auxiliary verb DROHEN from its lexical source during the history of German; characterizes the functional aspect of the grammaticalization of the verb DROHEN, which accommodates analysis of the three functional domains: temporality, aspectuality and modality.
