The thesis aims at a comprehensive study of a new class of the antioxidants - derivatives of 4-(3,4-dіhydroxyphenyl)thiazole (DFT), which show antibacterial activity. DFT effectively inhibit the processes of liquid phase oxidation of ethylbenzene and Tween-80. Antiradical activity of DFT is confirmed in model reactions with stable 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical and cation-radical of 2,2-azinobis-(3-etylbentiazoline-6-sulfonic acid). The paper presents substantiations for the method of determining the antiradical capacity in the reaction of ABTSo+ accumulation in the presence of antioxidants. Phenolic nature of DFT determines their propensity to oxidation in aqueous-alkaline media.
