The thesis covers a comprehensive research of the general provisions of the pre-trial investigation subject to the statutory provisions of the applicable criminal procedural laws and the theory of the criminal procedural law of Ukraine. The author defined the concept, contents and classification features inherent to the general provisions of pre-trial investigation. The author highlighted the genesis of pre-trial investigation's general provisions and ratio thereof in the system of the rules of law governing procedural activities of the parties to criminal proceedings at the pre-trial investigation stage.
