Levytska O. Romanticist Period in Literary Career of Mori Ogai: Problematics and Poetics

The thesis is the first comprehensive research of the romanticist period in a literary career of Mori Ogai, his unique aesthetic and artistic concept, skilful combination of cultures and aesthetic principles of the West and East. There are analyzed constant regularities of problematics and poetics of the writer's romanticist works, structural peculiarities, style specifics and figurative system of his prose. The thesis interprets the problem of perception and borrowing of such fundamental aesthetic principles of the West as freedom, individuality and beauty into the Japanese culture in the context of national tradition and literary process of Japan at the end of the ХІХ - beginning of the ХХ century. Analysis of the romanticist prose of Mori Ogai made it possible to understand better specifics of the writer's worldview ideas and to define the new features of his creative concept.
