The dissertation is devoted to the main aspects of the development of the economic potential of the industrial enterprises of Ukraine (an example - machine building). The meaning of the concepts "economic potential of the company" and "the development of system regulators of the organizing mechanism of economic potential of the industrial enterprises" has gained further development in the research. Theoretical and methodological basis of the process of development management of the industrial enterprises has been determined, factors that influence the development of enterprises have been systematized. Present state has been analyzed and the trends of the development of industrial enterprises in contemporary economy have been found. Proposed planning system that combines not only the plans of various kinds and duration, but the levels of planning, based on strategic management, aimed both at a specific object of research - the development of economic potential and at the improvement of the planning of the entire industrial enterprise. The model of the development management of the economic potential of an industrial enterprise has been developed, this will allow to determine the development prospects of machine building.
