Zaitseva M. Clinical findings, diagnosis and treatment of patients with pharyngeal-parapharyngeal tumors

The thesis is devoted to the actual task of improvement of quality of diagnosis and surgical treatment of patients with pharyngeal-parapharyngeal tumors with the help of complex diagnosis, which prevents extent and rate of complications. The research is based on results of complex examination and clinical material of 112 patients. The rate of postoperative complications was determined with the help of analysis of 30 archival cases of patients (control group) with tumors of neck, which were examined by traditional methods of diagnosis and operated by the traditional method and comparative clinical analysis of clinical data of 112 patients (basic group), participating in research on the offered complex method. The postoperative complications were observed in 86.6% (26) of patients of the control group and in 33.9% (38) of patients of the basic group. The use of the integrated visualization of tumors, the optimization of preoperative preparation and carrying out rehabilitation activities in the basic group produces statistically significant and essential reduction in the incidence of postoperative complications (p<0.05). The application of this complex diagnostics improves quality of the surgical treatment, reduces the rate of postoperative complications. The index of absence of tumor relapse in the basic group is 100%.
