Essay

The main goal of work is to set to technology production of self reducing pellets. On the basic of industrial waste, as well as their use of advanced technologies in metallurgy formulated requirements for self reducing pellets (SRP) properties for the blast furnace melt. A technology of SRP includes the composition of iron material (~70%).basicity: CaO/SiO2=0,9-2,3; carbon content -10-15%;lime from 2,0% to 6,0%; portlandcement 8-12%; pelletizing. The industrial lot of SPR was produced for blast furnace melt 5000 tons. The fundamental reactions of reduction occuring during the heat treatment of SRP have been studied. Blust furnace sludge, which contains fractions of coke particles have been included in the SRP blend as a source of solid redactant. Results from this investigation demonstrate that the decomposition of hydrates in SRP samples contribute as gase out and responsible for an intial gasification of carbon and leading to low temperature (~750oC) iron oxides reduction. A degree of iron, oxides reduction will make about 90% by solid carbon. The blast furnace melt was carried out to use SRP. An effect of change of coke carbon of SRP makes as (0.7-1.38) kgCcoke/tpig ironfor 1kgCSRP/tpig iron. Consumption of SRP changes from 60 to 160 kg/t tpig iron. Key words: selfreducing pellets, technology, carbon, lime, reduction.
