Essay

The present paper breaks new ground in the integrated study of semantic, structural, functional and synergetic peculiarities of speech etiquette figures of an English-speaking postcolonial character. Speech etiquette of an English-speaking postcolonial character is regarded as a unique verbal code, stemming from the hybrid identity of a postcolonial character, and refers to the practice of organizing linguistic action on the principles of politeness and cooperativeness so that it is seen as appropriate to the current communicative event.
