Essay

The work is devoted to development of a new precise relativistic methods to desciption of the spectroscopic characteristics of heavy Rydberg atomic systems in a free state and in an external electromagnetic field and modelling chaotic dynamics of their ionization in microwave field. There are received new data on levels energies, radiation widths, lifetimes, Stark resonances energies and widths for the Rydberg atoms of Rb, Cs, Fr (n <80), and a number of states for the Li-like ions. On the basis of uisng chaos-cybernetic apparatus of non-linear analysis there is performed modelling of ionization dynamics for heavy Rydberg alkali atoms in microwave field, providing the first quantitative description of the phenomenon of relativistic quantum-optical chaos.
