Study object: chemoresistant tuberculosis of respiratory organs in children; aim - increase of the efficacy of diagnosis and treatment of chemoresistant tuberculosis in children based on the determination of prevalence of the disease; clinical, immunological and biochemical peculiarities of the course of the disease and application of the immunomodulator arginyl-alpha-aspartyl-lysyl-valyl-thyrosyl-arginine in complex therapy; methods of investigations: epidemiological, clinical, X-ray, general clinical, microbiological, biochemical, immunological and statistical: Novelty: for the first time the structure of resistance of MBT in children suffering from tuberculosis in Western region of Ukraine was determined and peculiarities of resistance in different regions were established. Peculiarities of resistance of MBT in children, suffering from tuberculosis, due to age were revealed. Data on the peculiarities of the clinical course of chemoresistant tuberculosis was specificated. For the first time, it was proved that in children with chemoresistant tuberculosis significant increase of the level of acute phase proteins occurs. The peculiarities of the status of immune system in children of different age with chemoresistant tuberculosis were detected. Practicability of the use of immunomodulator arginyl-alpha-aspartyl-lysyl-valyl-thyrosyl-arginine in complex treatment of children with chemoresistant tuberculosis was substantiated.
