Dissertation is devoted to the study of the philosophical and theological traditions reception specifics in the M. Smotrytskiy polemical treatise "Trenos". The thesis analyzed the degree of M. Smotrytskiy philosophical ideas originality. The study summarizes the features of M. Smotrytskiy medieval metaphysics and theology reception. An analysis of author's ethic and aesthetic views proved that some of these views stayed in the medieval discourse.
