Essay

The manuscript presents studies of species composition of vegetation-dwelling Phytoseiidae mites in some cities of forest-steppe Ukraine (Kyiv, Brovary, Vasylkiv, Uman) that vary in the degree of urbanization, with subsequent comparative analysis of local mite communities. The most common species according to the number of individuals and the frequency of occurrence in all studied locations is Euseius finlandicus. The survey found that species Amblyseius andersoni because of increased sensitivity to the pressure of urban environment can be used as indicative of the degree of urbanization of the city.
