Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the factors shaping textual word-formations as based on contemporary German press. The lingual status of new coinages as units which integrate referential and nominative verbal signs, has been specified. It has been proven that the semantic compression of new coinages is connected with modeling figurative speech and implying additional senses. The functional orientation of textual word-formations testifies that interacting syntactic antecedents, they contribute to the structural, semantic and communicative integrity of the text.
