Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the development of an effective numerical and experimental approach to the problem of determining the vibration frequencies and modes of non-circular cylindrical shells of elliptical cross-section with different geometrical and mechanical parameters under various boundary conditions. The shells as a cylindrical surface with elliptic cross-section with different character thickness distribution free oscillations dynamic characteristics were calculated based on the developed approach. On the basis of numerical and experimental studies were obtained the dependences of frequencies and mode shapes of the type of cross-sectional nature changes in thickness of the boundary conditions and mechanical properties of the material, which is an actual scientific problem of modern solid mechanics.
