The dissertation work deals with theoretical, methodological and applied aspects to improve state regulation of economy of Ukraine in the context of competitiveness under globalization. A specified content of the category "competitiveness", signs of its classifications in modern economic theory are provided. The main approaches to assess the competitiveness of the national economy and its peculiarities, as well as the features of the state regulation of the national economy, methods and means of influence are given.
